The Challenge of A New Era

Regenerate-RISE owns the Platt Mission and due to Covid and having to purchase the Centre, the planning permission ran out. We are now about to submit a new planning application to Wandsworth Council for a 12 bed Reablement Unit that will provide a Centre of Excellence for older people. It will include day services on the ground floor, a hairdressing room along with therapy rooms on the first floor, facilities for visitors and a full health and wellbeing programme for all those using the building.

Our RISE+ programmes currently assists patients in hospital to return home safely and our new Centre will be accessed when there are delays, for whatever reason, to patients returning home when they are medically fit for discharge. Older people across the borough of Wandsworth and wider afield will be able to access the residential side of the Centre and our staff will do everything they can to enable the patient to return to their own home.

Delivering Supply Bags

Since March we have delivered 3,206 Supply Bags to people who are in lock down and to those recently who are unable to go out due to their disability or vulnerability.  We have been grateful to all those who have contributed items and it has been amazing to see the response by those we deliver to.

We aim to continue delivering Supply Bags for as long as is necessary.  We travel across the borough of Wandsworth to every post code and if you know of anyone who is in need of support, please do contact us and we will do our best to deliver a Supply Bag within 24 hours.  We currently have 377 people that we have provided a service to and as people begin to do their own shopping, the number will reduce

Lunches

We have now delivered 4,235 Lunches across Wandsworth, ready to be microwaved. We were very grateful to the London Community Response Fund for being able to subsidise our lunches and we now provide these 4 days a week and the cost is £6 for a lunch, dessert and a drink.  They are delivered  by volunteers and our staff and will arrive in time for lunch.  They are cooked freshly on the day and we change our Menu every month.  Please see the August Menu and let us know if you want to try it out.

RISE in Woking

RISE Woking was initiated when all funding for older peoples Day Centres was stopped at the end of the last financial year. Regenerate-RISE has taken on the management of St Mary’s Day Centre in West Byfleet and is providing a service on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays every week. St Mary’s is funded by Byfleet United Charities and is grateful to The Friends of St Marys which will enable RISE to finance the project for the current year. For further information our our new Woking project, please emailwoking@regenerate-rise.co.uk
